I found out about this organization through an amazing lady who is a cancer survivor like myself. She explained to me the "politics" of fundraising through some organizations out there and how money doesn't really go towards a cure. The office I work at is having a "Simply Pink" party this month and we are honored to being sending it your way.In 1995 I was diagnosed with cancer. I had my physical and thought nothing of this routine appointment. I received a call days later to come into the office as soon as possible. When I arrived I was told I was having surgery in 2 days due to stage 3 cancer and that I needed to get things in order. The word "cancer" is one I pray no one will ever have to hear; It changes everything from the very second you hear it and nothing will ever be the same.Unfortunatly, I could not have my surgery on Monday as testing showed my heart was not strong enough to withstand the procedure. I was scheduled for pacemaker implant two days later, had two weeks to adjust and recover and went in to tackle the cancer. After a complete radical hyterectomy and chemotherapy treatment, I awaited the results of my check-up. Praise God, I have been clear since then, but mentally held my breathe for 10 years to cross that anniversary date. I have been clear since then, but as stated; you are never the same. I have been given another chance; to make a difference, to help others, to pray more, and give more.
