About the team:
We are a group of girls from the Chicago area who enjoy running and exercising. We decided to participate in the Chicago Half Marathon & 5K to raise money to support cancer research for additional motivation to meet our personal fitness goals. A couple of us have been personally affected by cancer; Rachel is the daughter of a three time cancer survivor, and Shelbey’s grandmother is currently fighting stage four lung cancer and has recently participated in a clinical trial for the CyberKnife Robotic Radiosurgery System which has had unbelievable and outstanding results. Rocio, Melissa, and Amanda have leant their support, love, and friendship through the various trials of watching our loved ones fight the courageous battle against cancer. Now we are banding together to encourage others to lend their support by making a contribution to fund research and continue the fight against cancer—and win! We set our fundraising goal at $1,000 but hope to exceed that goal. Any amount—from $1 to $100—will have a greater impact than you may imagine, with 99¢ of every dollar earned going directly to finding a cure. Thank you for your support!
