For Treatment Innovators
At The Gateway for Cancer Research we recognize that all investigative work has merit. But our goal is to speed breakthroughs from the lab to the bedside to patients who need them NOW.
Much of the current research being done by other research organizations focuses on curing cancer in mice. The list of achievements in this area is seemingly endless, but there is a struggle to make the jump from animal to human. Many of these projects are 10 to 15 years away from developing treatments that can help human patients. But people living with cancer can't wait. We need answers NOW, not next week, next year, or next decade.
At The Gateway, our focus is on supporting researchers who are innovating TODAY—researchers who are seeking treatments that can help save the lives of today's cancer patients. We call them treatment innovators. These passionate researchers are exploring cutting-edge approaches to fighting cancer, and we stand with them every step of the way.
The Gateway for Cancer Research funds all kinds of cancer research. To date, we have funded more than 71 studies from researchers around the globe. To become a Gateway-funded treatment innovatorSM, start by getting acquainted with our movement. We recommend you review the kinds of research we currently fund.
