FIRST STUDY TARGETING COLORECTAL CANCER STEM CELLS TO BEGIN

The Gateway President Speaks on Her Personal Battle with Breast Cancer While Pregnant
In conjunction with October's designation as breast cancer awareness month, The Gateway President, Lynette Bisconti, was featured live on the Today Show. Lynette is a 13 year cancer survivor and spoke passionately about her diagnosis of breast cancer while she was pregnant. In the U.S. alone, nearly 260,000 women are diagnosed each year with breast cancer. Traditional treatment methods for breast cancer (surgery, chemotherapy and radiation) are typically not suitable to maintain the viability of a pregnancy. So Lynette's struggle is not only her personal story of survival but also the challenge to maintain a healthy pregnancy. Thanks to personalized and tailored treatments from the Cancer Treatment Centers of America - CTCA - Lynette was able to undergo treatment for breast cancer and still protect her growing fetus.
