SCHAUMBURG, IL – (April 2012) The Mudathlon is a run for adventure lovers, who don’t mind getting a little dirty. The run is known for its thick messy mud, challenging obstacles, and for being loads of fun. This year’s Northwest Indiana Mudathlon www.mudathlon.com will also help support cancer research. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit The Gateway for Cancer ResearchSM.
The Gateway is a non-profit organization that supports research for promising new treatment options with the aim of helping today’s cancer patients feel better, live longer and be cured now. “We’re pleased to be one of the designated charities to benefit from this event! What better way is there to fully enjoy an event than to know you are also making a difference in the fight against cancer,” said Lynette Bisconti, president of The Gateway for Cancer Research.
By participating in the event and making The Gateway your charity of choice, you can help The Gateway raise money for cancer research. The race will be held in Valparaiso, IN on Saturday, July 21 at the Graeber Family Farms. The Gateway invites participants to join the event as part of their Team Demand charity running program.
Participation in the event is free when you choose to raise money for The Gateway. Participants who plan to raise funds should use the code: Demand Cures when registering. Registration for all others is $75, with a portion of the fee being donated to The Gateway, when using code: Gateway.
Participants can pick their start time between 8am and 2pm. Registration includes a great medal, Mudathlete® shirt, Mudathlon® Bandana, commemorative glass Mudathlon® beer mug, post-race feast, and a chip timed result.
The Gateway’s Team Demand has also been involved with races in other states, including the inaugural Hollywood Half Marathon in Los Angeles, and the Georgia Publix Marathon in Atlanta. Registration is still open for the upcoming Wisconsin’s “The Cheesiest Marathon” on May 5th, and the Chicago Half Marathon & 5K on September 9th.
