99¢ of every dollar received goes to fund cancer research

99¢ of every dollar received funds cancer research

It is not uncommon for cancer charities and not-for-profits to spend a percentage of their revenue—sometimes as much as 83¢ of each dollar or more—on operating costs, marketing, awareness, education, outreach and other efforts. However, The Gateway for Cancer ResearchSM  is different:

99¢ of every dollar received goes to fund phase I and phase II human clinical cancer trials to find better treatments and cures for cancer for today's cancer patients.

So, when you make a donation to The Gateway for Cancer Research, you know that your donation has truly helped fund cancer research.

All of our administrative, marketing, operating and management expenses are paid for by a very generous underwriter, allowing The Gateway for Cancer Research to donate 99 cents of every dollar received to fund cancer research.

Our generous underwriter is the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. The Gateway shares a unique bond with Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), our founder: Richard J Stephenson. Just a few years after opening the first CTCA hospital, Mr. Stephenson founded the Cancer Treatment Research Foundation (now known as The Gateway for Cancer ResearchSM) as an independent organization whose sole mission is to fund cancer research focused on saving lives now.

The Gateway is a distinct legal entity from CTCA. While CTCA underwrites our administrative expenses, our funding decisions are independent and entirely our own, as they legally must be. CTCA plays no part in deciding which cancer researchers receive grants from The Gateway.

In this way, The Gateway for Cancer ResearchSM remains secure in the knowledge that the cancer research we fund, is always independent and driven by the needs of cancer patients.
