1500 American people die every day from cancer - - that’s one person every 57 seconds. In the four decades since the U.S. government declared the “War on Cancer” with the National Cancer Act of 1971, we are still fighting to cure the second deadliest disease for men and women in the U.S.

Every year, numerous government agencies sink billions of dollars into cancer research and prevention efforts and non-profits contribute additional millions. More than $200 billion has been spent on cancer research since 1971.

Yet there still is no cure for cancer and the treatments are often as debilitating as the disease.

Our mission at the Gateway for Cancer Research℠ is simple: to speed clinical discoveries and breakthroughs to help cancer patients feel better, live longer or be cured, TODAY.  The Gateway funds Phase I and II leading-edge, human clinical cancer research at world-renowned institutions. We do not fund cancer research to cure mice, we fund cancer research to cure people. 

We are proud of the research work that The Gateway has funded, which includes scientists, medical researchers and doctors – whom we call treatment innovators℠ - from leading cancer institutions including: Sloan-Kettering Institute for Cancer Research, MD Anderson Cancer Center, John Hopkins University, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School.

Some of the currently funded Gateway research work includes:
 ∙DNA Vaccines to combat breast cancer
 ∙ Personalized Cancer Therapy - Blood cancers
 ∙Immune System Therapy for Stem Cell Transplant Patients - Hematologic Cancers
 ∙ Predicting Brain Tumor Recurrence

Since its inception The Gateway for Cancer Research has funded over $20 million in innovative cancer research. The Gateway is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.  99¢ of every dollar donated goes directly to fund cancer research.
